This website (decoder-metartaf.pl) is the free, ad-supported version of MetarTaf Decoder. Below we describe what data the website itself processes - unlike the mobile/web app, the website shows Google AdSense ads and counts airport popularity.

Weather data

When you open an airport page, your browser fetches the current METAR/TAF from our API server, which in turn fetches it from the public Aviation Weather Center (NOAA) source. The request contains only the airport's ICAO code, with no data identifying you personally.

Airport visit counter

Each visit to an airport page increments a visit counter tied to that airport's ICAO code (used to show the "popular airports" section). We do not store your IP address or any identifier that would let us recognise a specific user or device across visits.

Google AdSense ads and cookies

The website is funded by ads served through Google AdSense. After you accept the cookie banner, Google may set cookies and use other technologies to serve ads, including personalized ads based on your prior activity on the web. You can at any time:

• decline personalized ads in the cookie banner at the bottom of the page,
• manage your Google ad settings directly at adssettings.google.com,
• learn more about how Google uses data in Google's privacy policy for partner sites .

The website also checks whether you're using an ad blocker (a local check in your browser, no data is sent anywhere) - if so, it shows a one-time, dismissible notice explaining that ads fund free access.

Sharing data with third parties

Beyond the Google AdSense (ads) and Aviation Weather Center (weather data) relationships described above, we do not sell or share any data with third parties for marketing purposes.
